Last March we introduced a makeover of the Mid-Year program as Mid Year Education Day. Our Goal Was To Build on the Best of the Past While Adding New Features.
This is a One-Day event: March 8th, 2008 from 8:30 to 4:30.
We are at the same location, the Hyatt on Capitol Square in Columbus. This facility is beautiful, with many nooks and crannies to share coffee and ideas with your fellow Kiwanians. The hotel also overlooks church row, a street of beautiful historic churches. And there is inexpensive parking close by [$3/day]
We will again use theme - tracks - which will have 3 - 4 different but related forums throughout the day - but will give them more time. You can follow a track of specific interest to you - or mix and match if you want. Our team is again revamping some forums, adding others - and adding new presenters. We think it will be stimulating and worth your while.
The tracks are: Membership, Service Leadership (aka Sponsored Youth), Things You Might Want To Know About Kiwanis, Service, and Special Forums.
The Ohio District is excited to announce that Nancy Whetstone of the Kiwanis Club of Columbus will be the keynote speaker for the Opening Session at our Mid Year Education Day.
The project poster session last year featured poster presentations on 25 of the best club projects in the district - and was a big success! About 350 of you came, and we were overwhelmed. So we will again have this session - but in a larger venue. If you want one of your club’s project highlighted, send in the registration form in the Ohio District Magazine by Feb. 1st.
Our Mid Year Education Day will feature a one-day package price. We will again feature all of this, including materials, forums, refreshments and lunch for one reasonable price of $65. While you can register between Feb. 12th and March 8th, register on or before February 11th and you get a $55 price - a $10 discount off the full price. There are also discounts for K-Family and non-Kiwanian spouses. So register early.
Our intent is to make you feel welcome and rewarded. So put March 8th on your schedule.
We want you to know - We Have heard you! Come to see what has been done - Be part of - Cherishing Our Past - Challenging Our Future!.
